Garage Sales and other stuff
We've been busy...summer has officially started and with it came the sunshine and everything else. We had a garage sale the last 2 weekends to raise money for our teens going to Ecuador! I am thrilled that Jeb, Liam, and I will all be going this year and my sister Rachel will be meeting us down there too. FYI - my sister Rachel has a boyfriend and is going to be doing mission work in Panama with him, then joining us in Ecuador. His name is Stephen, and I know some of you AIM people know him. Well...she's pretty cookoo over him and I couldn't be happier for her! This week has been VBS. Jeb is the story time guy and I am cooking meals for everyone. Will post more later...

Steven who? When are you going to be in Ecuador?
Rachel was my camp counselor my first year at camp. I always remember that she had really long hair and left camp early for some basketball thing. Its funny the things I remember... so random.
his name is steven and he went to portugal in aim and he's a really nice guy. i haven't actually met him yet.
we are going to ecuador in august. we will be there for almost 2 weeks mainly in cayambe where our church has built a camp (like a camp yamhill) for quito area churches, but will also spend a few days in quito to.
Jeb, has Dave given you any advice on how to avoid picking up a nasty disease while traveling abroad?
that steve guy i think was on Taras team. i think he left before Rolo got there tho...
FIY, as the wife of an ecuadorian and having been there myself... i can tell you its not a disease infested country, more than anywhere else. just dont eat off the street and you should be fine. even though you aren't going to the best city of Ecuador (Guayaquil), i hear Quito is beautiful. When all of rolo's family came up to Vancouver for our wedding they all said it was just like Quito.
My reference was to a mutual friend having gotten sick during a mission trip, not meaning any personal criticism of Ecuador. Surely, visitors to the US can just as easily pick up something here. Apologies Lisa, hope no harm done here.
and dave (our last preacher at bellevue) apparently was eating from the street vendors...or at least that's what we heard. jeb has already been there twice and myself once...the worst that happened was we got the runs for a day...nothing bad and i love ecuador!!! jeb says, "it was more than a day!" pris says, "more than a day for jebodiahrea!"
no worries Kevin... i figured there was an unknown reference in there. I have dealt with my share of the runs living in Mexico and visiting Ecuador... but some people freak out about it a little too much.
You guys need to go to Salinas. Its at the beach, aboout 2 hours from Guayaquil. Rolo's mom lives there, and owns a school. IF you ever get a chance to go, the beach is amazing, and im sure she would extremely happy to let you stay there. her house has plenty of rooms, and she just became a christian and could use the encouragement, and always loves for people to see her school and play with the kids!! I know its far from Cayambe, but maybe next time! It is a little piece of heaven.
well our church goes back to ecuador for a medical mission trip in january every year and i think they usually go to guayaquil or someplace on the coast. we would love to go there...time is the issue. almost 2 weeks is a long time for 7-12 graders!
by the way, our church is still looking for people to take over running the camp in cayambe. just wanted to let you know if you guys think you might be interested.
Hello? This is STEPHEN (with a P-H) and I just wanted to say, "Hi" Yes, I did go to Portugal with Tara Woods (Sylvestri). I actually ended up going to Oklahoma Christian with Eric after AIM but that's another story. Just wanted to say "Hi" and thank you Priscilla for saying that I was a "nice guy". I look forward to meeting you. By the way, I'm sitting right next to that "Cookoo" girl here in Panama and I would have to say I'm pretty "Cookoo" over her myself!
stephen, when are you guys going to start a blog and post some pictures from panama? I want to see what you guys are doing there!
