I don't know if this is going to be a permanent thing, but as we were putting our kid to bed tonight, he insisted that he sleep in "my bed" (meaning the big bed in his room and not the crib). The weird thing about this is that we haven't pushed him to get in the big bed, and he has never slept in it before. So we thought we would lay him down with a few warnings that he better stay in it. And then we left the room and there was silence...no playing with toys, no talking himself to sleep...silence. And I don't know how this transition usually goes for kids from crib to bed or if this is a fluke that our kid is ready to sleep in a real bed but it did give us a pleasant surprise to walk in and find him fast asleep!

WOW! That's great--hope it lasts!
What a precious picture! He looks so peaceful!
How awesome that he's making that transition on his own! I still have nightmares about standing outside Darby's room, watching through the cracked door, and jumping all over her everytime she even looked like she was thinking about getting off. She's been in her big girl bed for almost a year now and we still have days where I'm all over her about staying in her bed! Yikes!
So far so good. He has been sleeping in his big boy bed for almost a week now for naps and night time. He does take a while to go to sleep at night...we hear him rustling around in his room and we go in to find him trying to tuck his dumptruck under the covers with him. We always give him a choice of sleeping in the crib or the big boy bed and he always says "boy bed".
Not much cuter than a kid asleep in pajamas. Hope things are going well for you three in Bellevue. I still think about us needing to play Texas Hold'em again with pretzel cigars and good company.
By the way, I recently started up my blog again, although it is now through a different site name.
